Everyone feel sad and glad for Eileen!
She’s in Orlando but she won’t be going to the parks! Zut Alors! She has missed one!
She’ll be adding to this post in a bit. I was supposed to just post the pic but I couldn’t help putting in my two cents. (I was also supposed to straighten it and crop out the creepy redrum girl but I think it adds a lil sumpin).

At long last, we are on Eileen’s home ground. After a brief stop to show pictures to my Dad and tell a few quick stories, I drove until 2 am to get us into Ohio. I was kept up by the late west-coast Cubs game but hit a wall as soon as they fell short in a late inning rally.
Eileen does the morning shift so well and got us across Ohio as The Boy and I drooled onto our travel pillows. The camera has few shots on it since The Badlands and they are all state welcome/bye signs as we plowed across the interstates. The one other shot is my last wishlist item: a shot of Fit reflected in the polished hubcap of an 18-wheeler. Eileen obligingly paced the truck while I got the shot. She then declared, “that was quite stressful!” she is our Brave Adventure Girl. She has many tales to tell and will regale you all with them in the coming week once laundry, grocery shopping and dog-petting are done.
Eastward Ho!
Since Wednesday, we’ve traveled from Wyoming to Wisconsin. That’s a lot of hard driving, especially considering that we stayed at Mt Rushmore two and a half hours longer than we planned. (Our friends were just so much FUN!)
We also looped through the Badlands in South Dakota, but it’s otherwise just been long days of driving.
In our desire to hug Kenzie, and sleep in our own beds, we are only stopping briefly in Chicago long enough to show our Yellowstone pictures to The Hubster’s father.
Then it’ll be another late night of driving before we drag ourselves onto our FINAL hotel of the trip! (I can’t properly express how much I enjoyed typing that sentence.)

We sent two updates from Yellowstone, but neither seems to have shown up! Horrors!
After a mind-blowingly scary (to me) drive through coyote-infested back roads last night, we struggled to find vacancy in a cheap motel. It took until 1:30 am, but we finally managed to snag one of the last rooms in the second town we tried, over the South Dakota border.
We are now less than a half hour from Mt. Rushmore, where we will be meeting up with our Ohio friends before we push really, really hard to cross multiple states to get back to our comfy beds and much-missed doggie.
