Crammed my brain, stuffed my tummy

Today’s schedule was chock-a-block full of workshops for me — as in, from 8:15 until 5:30, I was in one workshop after the other. And, because the conference is sold out, each and every one was packed. So totally packed, in fact, that there was often standing room only in some workshops!

Lotus Cafe, Jackson, Wyoming

Once again, the iPhone has been a godsend. The Hubster used Yelp to search GF restaurants, and discovered the Lotus Cafe.

Our lunch here yesterday was delicious, and today’s breakfast is totally wonderful.

Heaven on a GF bun

We are all singing the praises of traveling with the awesome power of the iPhone. Not only has it done all the navigating thru several states, located cheap lodgings and gas, but it now has our eternal thanks for finding Local Burger in Lawrence, Kansas – a place so far from the highway we’d never have found it on our own. The Boy and I were able to eat burgers and fries in total “safety,” sure that our meal would not make us sick.

You glutenous people don’t know how good you’ve got it when traveling… For us, each meal is fraught with danger. So, to have a place where we ate a tasty meal –chocolate cookie included– it was an absolute delight.

With an ‘e,’ not an ‘o’

I know I’m relatively late to the party. By the time I faced the Celiac diagnosis for my son and myself almost a year ago, there were already many GF products on the shelves of regular grocery stores, and more and more mainstream companies were getting into the act.

Not to mention the amount of packaging/labeling that has improved the shopping experience.
