Great soundtracks

Not only am I a huge movie buff, but I’m also a huge movie soundtrack buff.

Ever since grad school, when I’d be up until ridiculous hours of the night painting costume renderings, I’ve been hooked on the sweeping emotions great soundtracks can evoke, the wonderfully rich way music can set my right-brained self free to be creative.

With all the writing I’ve been doing to get my manuscript done in time for the Golden Heart submission date in early December, I’ve been running my iPod on overtime.

Here’s what I’ve been listening to:

Lush, gorgeous, European, playful… oh, I adore this movie and this music! You just can’t beat Ennio Morricone…

Tornados, packing, and work… oh MY!

Sorry — I’ve been a naughty blogger and didn’t post for a little bit there.

Yesterday was spent cleaning the beach house and waiting out an eeeeevil storm that inluded a tornado or two in the area! It then messed up the expressway we were driving to get back home… so that set my schedule off by a couple of hours. Then we came home to realize that the neighbors were actually keeping Kenzie through today (rather than last night), and I spent the whole evening doing laundry, unpacking, cleaning, and wailing “I miss my puppy!”

Today, I’m at work, desperately trying to finish stuff up for my exceedingly patient boss. (Can you imagine not blinking an eyelash when your right-hand gal tells you she will be out of the office most of July?!)

My sister and I leave for the RWA conference tomorrow morning, and I have tons to do between now and our flight time.

All this to say… I don’t really have an update, and the next Yellowstone adventure will have to wait until tomorrow… at least.

We’re heading to Illinois in a few

We’re facing the sad task of saying goodbye to some of our dearest friends…

…but the hope of Jarlings Custard Cup in a few hours is sending us out to climb into the car once again.

We’ll update from the road, or Chicago. Whichever one brings the first inspiration.

Ciao!

The packing has begun

The Great Westward Ho trip is soon to begin. Which means I’ve stopped sleeping normally.

Which means I’m thinking about packing.

Which means I’m already piling stuff up in the guest bedroom!
