Sign of the times

Today was the day that I needed to work on my 2010 calendar — the big one that lives on our fridge, and keeps us all organized and “on the same page.”

Literally.

I track all holidays, birthdays, school events, township events, appointments, and also make notations of when we did what where. :)

To start off the construction of next year’s calendar, I grab these essentials:

The new calendar, the old calendar, the school/township calendar, my printed clear label stickers, and some colored markers.

I wanna know…

Do you make New Year’s resolutions?

Do you promise to quit smoking?
or lose weight?
or work on your marriage?
or stop yelling at your kids?
or go on a long-postponed vacation?
or work out regularly?
or reduce your carbon footprint?
or go to church?

I’m just interested in knowing what other people are thinking of doing in 2010.

Me? Oh, I’m not sure whether I’ll be writing out a list. We have been doing a lot of “resolution type things” over the past few years — like reducing our carbon footprint, working out regularly, cooking more, and spending more time together on things that don’t involve electronics.

Yeah… then we got the PS3 and I don’t see us playing alot of board games in the coming months.

But I’m interested in what you all do… and whether you’ve thought of something that really helped you, that you’d recommend people work on in 2010… for the betterment of the world or just your own little corner of the world.

The wonders of a sneaky husband

So… the play itself was very amusing and, despite protestations that he didn’t want to go earlier today, The Boy had a blast and laughed and laughed at the zany and high-spirited antics. And, never fear, I didn’t get too involved with looking at the costumes — because only one character was in one, while all the others were puppets or “part puppets.”

But, I don’t want to start my story there, I should start it as we drove down The Avenue of the Arts in Philadelphia after the play…

No… wait… I should start it with last Fall, when I had to give over my tiny little purse for the gi-stinkin-normous B.A.G. I had to start carrying in order to cart all the diabetes paraphernalia — the insulin pump tidbits, the glucometer, the quick-acting sugar snacks, the juice boxes, the glucagon (for really bad lows), plus all my normal purse stuff.

This was the giant bag that was able to produce snacks for the guys during intermission.

Tomorrow, tomorrow…

Despite a rather blah day today when none of us felt like getting out of our jammies — and, in fact, none of us (except the dogs) actually left the house — I think it just might have been what we all needed after the hustle and bustle of the past few weeks.

Plus, tomorrow is a big day for us.

1) it’s our 19th wedding anniversary!

and

2) we’re going to see a play.
