Bentos for today

(this is my second try with posting these — I wrote it up once and it drifted off to the ether…)

The Boy wanted his “standard” unlunchable with peanut butter & apples:

Give me the usual, barkeep!

We had leftover skirt steak from Sunday’s dinner, so I threw together a pair of quick salads for the Hubster and me:

Crunchy yumminess!

There’s honey mustard dressing in the one cup and almonds and craisins in the other.

I’m back to working at the office on Wednesdays again, so you’ll see more bentos in the future.

The Boy and I are meeting with his GI specialist this afternoon to go over how we’re doing with the Celiac disease, so wish us luck!

Kate Plus Eight

I just saw this on CNN’s website: TLC drops Jon and keeps Kate

Praise Jebus!

Do your best, little pink eraser. Do your best!

I have never ever felt a kinship with him (not that I necessarily feel one with Kate either, but…) and I never understood why anyone would support him in the recent media blitz (which has only devolved into the most juvenile crud — mostly from him.)

Oots Bento Boxes

They look pretty cool and it seems like the smaller boxes “nest” into the larger box. I also like how it has the strap for a water bottle. But the price is fairly steep ($45.50.)

Halloween finds at Target

I was in Target today (had to buy new containers for the pantry re-organization project I have planned) and saw some interesting Halloween-themed items, some that would work for bento!

Skulls and Web combination < -- The picks are skulls...

They had lots of little Halloween-shaped cupcake tins, cupcake liners, shaped sprinkles (I snagged the ones shaped like eyes, bones, bats and spiderwebs!), and a 2-piece cake pan that would make a 3-dimensional pumpkin cake.
