Hmmm… need ideas

If you had a big crowd to feed every night for a week — with two young girls and a boy-teen vegetarian — what would YOU serve?

Oh, and I’d have to have some part of it gluten-free.

Have I stumped ya?

I’m already thinking that there will have to be a spaghetti night (with gluten-free meatballs from my stash.)

And Kdubs wants to do a quiche on Easter. I’ll do a ham and some scalloped potatoes as well.

I like the idea of making the chicken marinated in Jilly’s ginger soy sauce glaze, served with some fried rice.

There will have to be some hamburgers and hotdogs when the weather is perfect!

What else?

Help!

Tempted

My dear, darling husband tempts me through Facebook.

Now, there’s a phrase I never thought I’d write…

He posted this today:

Kinda sad, in’nit? Married almost twenty years and we communicate through Facebook.

I’m rolling my eyes too!

My techo-geek guys

When I was first pregnant, I really, really wanted a girl. I guess it was because I’d had such a great relationship with my mom, that I wanted the same thing with my own daughter. When I found out The Boy was going to be a boy, I had to do a little adjusting to the idea.

But… in the fourteen years since, I’ve discovered just how danged FUN it can be to have a son. Plus, I’ve gotten to watch my husband have the bestest time geeking out with The Boy. They’ve built birdhouses together, delved into robotics, pelted each other with marshmallow shooters, and devoured the Dangerous Book for Boys.

So, when my bosses discovered an old laptop projector during their big clean-out last week, and asked if I wanted it (or knew how to recycle it), I told them I’d handle it.

‘Cause I knew my guys would do SOMETHING with it. :)

Spring: The good, the bad, and the insistent

I’m apologizing ahead of time for the photo-heavy post — my only excuse is that… well… it’s Spring.

And, for me, that means the incredible joy of staring a daffodil right in its glowy face:

*sigh*

Doesn’t that make you just want to SIGH?!
