We experienced unseasonably warm weather the end of last week — and by that, I mean it was 70 degrees, when it should’ve been about 50 degrees. (I wouldn’t want to confuse my friend from the Left Coast, who feels that warm weather means 90 and above…)
And warm weather really jump starts things in my garden. Just look what it did for the buds on my rosy-red horse chestnut (Aesculus x. carnea)
I have such a love/hate relationship with this tree because it’s a “heavy dropper” and makes a royal mess out of my back porch nine months out of the year.
But… ohhhhh… when it gets ready to bloom, my blood starts pumping!
