Saying goodbye to Chicago friends

Unfortunately, the Cubs lost, but it was a beautiful day in a lovely ballpark, surrounded by friends and family.

We’re saying the last of our farewells before hopping on the road again….

Saint Louis, here we come!

Chicago Botanic Garden

OnTamalia and her man joined us on a long ramble around the Chicago Botanic Garden this afternoon.

The weather was perfection itself, and a big relief from the oppressive heat and humidity of the past week. (Praise Jebus!) Blue, blue skies with fluffy, white clouds have made our visit here quite glorious.

Tonight is the big “game night” – a traditional gathering of the entire clan, where gaming, cheating, and eating are on the agenda.

Millenium Toe Dip

Kicking back on the lakeshore.

We checked out the Taste of Chicago, but decided to just walk around the park a bit. We had a blast at ‘the bean’ and have great pictures to share later. The Hubster’s childhood friend took us to this neat park, where we dipped our feet in the cold water.

Tonight’s plan is to go to Toy Story 3. We’re crossing our fingers that we survive the ending without thinking of Treelo to much. I’m afraid we’ll all succumb to the Unpretty Cry.

We’re heading to Illinois in a few

We’re facing the sad task of saying goodbye to some of our dearest friends…

…but the hope of Jarlings Custard Cup in a few hours is sending us out to climb into the car once again.

We’ll update from the road, or Chicago. Whichever one brings the first inspiration.

Ciao!
