Why I love my husband
Wanna know how sweet The Hubster is?
Well, after a harrowing trip to support my loved one, I flew home and texted my beloved from the gate — “Honey, I’m HOOOOOOME!”
In reply, I got: “Running late. Be there in 30 mins.”
Um… okay. Not cool, but — after what I’ve been dealing with — I’m so danged glad to have my dear, darling, wonderful husband, I wasn’t about to complain.
And I DEFINITELY didn’t complain when I saw his car pull up with my brand, spankin’ new bike secured to the back!

He’d worked miracles, bribed a few Target employees, and raced to pick it up in time to greet me with it.
Ain’t he the best?!
And ain’t my new bike cool? I think I’ll call her Lucy!

Is that actually a bike without handbrakes? Where did you find it?? I hate handbrakes and I completely miss my childhood bike that was the old fashioned footbrake type. I am SOOOO jealous!
So sweet!! And Lucy is a perfect name.
Incidentally, my bike is named Blue Phoenix. Miriam named it for me. She was only about seven at the time.
@Joanne – it’s a Schwinn Legacy, and Target sells it, but it’s been very hard to find. Their website shows it as being “out of stock” right now. When looking for a bike without brakes, look for a “cruiser” — that seems to be the key term.
I Love Lucy! Glad you got a nice treat after a bad trip.
Oh, I’m in LOVE! That’s the kind of bike I want. Now you just need a cute little basket for the front!
She’s purdy! Have fun!
I forsee many fun and happy hours for you and Lucy!
@Deena – I actually HAVE a cute little wicker basket for the front already!! Now I just need a bike helmet, and I’ll be good to go!
Love her – actually she looks a lot like my Schwinn from my childhood – same color! Of course – I was the cooly kid on the block with the banana seat and streamers!
Yep, he is THE best!
