My day of byew-TAY!

Yesterday, while I was blogging, planting crops in Farmville, whipping up Impossible Quiche at my virtual cafe, and firing off zingers in Psha’s trip report on PassPorter, I decided to throw another few items into my list of multi-tasking To Do’s…

I was overdue for a little pampering.

I really needed to touch-up the “aunt farm” growing on top of my head — my dishwater brown and gray roots where showing through my Caramel Kiss gloriousness. Luckily, I’d snagged a box of L’Oreal Feria the night before. ;)

It’s a single-process color job and easy to do at home. It also smells purrrdy, since they include a packet of “shimmer” oil that has a nice scent, covering up much of the ammonia smell. Still, I only do this when my guys aren’t at home as they both have a tendency to complain. They also have a tendency to tease me for the way my hair sticks out six ways to Sunday while my roots suck up dye.

Next up was bringing back the shine to my teeth after months of swilling coffee like it was going out of style! I still had some strips left from the last time I purchased Crest White Strips, so I got those puppies on my teeth to let them work their magic.

Easy peasy… except when a stiff breeze hits my teeth and I realize how over-sensitive the whitening makes them for a day or two!

Then I grabbed the purple tube of my Sally Hansen’s Spa Creme Hair Removal Wand and went to town on my upper lip and chin.

(And I couldn’t help but remember the time I was on the Disneyland monorail with The Boy when I noticed, for the first time, that he had hair above his lip. Or the collective gasp and bark of laughter the other guests let out when he said “just like you, Mom!”)

It was while I was in this triple-play of my beauty regimen that my brother called me — and, since he rarely calls me, I simply HAD to pick up the phone. He got a real kick when I told him that, at that moment, he was talking to a woman with what looked like greasy dreadlocks, a white Santa goatee, and a speech impediment. He starting laughing so hard, we had to postpone our discussion until I was done…

Then I went back to my computer for more virtual planting and cooking while these beauty products did their THANG for me.

After I wiped off the hair remover, pulled the whitening strips, and washed out the dye, I decided to “plus” it with a little extra pampering and added some good exfoliation. First up, my Salux cloth, which I got for free from an Ichiban Kan order a few months ago. (R.I.P. Ichiban Kan’s online store!)

It does an amazing job of smoothing out my skin and getting the dry scalies off of my arms and legs — a byproduct of my thyroid having conked out a few years ago. The Hubster is quite enamored of the little graphic on the back of the packaging:

Heeee! If you’re interested in trying one, you can usually find them in the household supply/soap aisle of most Asian grocery stores.

Finally, I gave my feet a good once-over with some Dr. Scholl’s Pedicure Essentials scrub.

When all was said and done, I felt like a new woman and ready to face all my pals in Disney World next week.
