So close and yet so far!
Everyone feel sad and glad for Eileen!
She’s in Orlando but she won’t be going to the parks! Zut Alors! She has missed one!
She’ll be adding to this post in a bit. I was supposed to just post the pic but I couldn’t help putting in my two cents. (I was also supposed to straighten it and crop out the creepy redrum girl but I think it adds a lil sumpin).

Yeah, that girl is a little creepy. And I do feel bad for Eileen. Yes, it’s great to be able to spend time with your sister, but to be so close to Disney World and not be able to visit? Sheer torture.
Thanks, hunny, for posting the weird girl in the crooked photo. I love when you’re helpful. :p
My sister and I made it to Orlando with nary a hitch. Our Tiffany Towncar driver was even kind enough to add in a grocery stop for us when I realized I’d forgotten stockings. (EEEP!) We decided to stock our fridge with gluten free stuff for me to nosh on as well — plus, I’m doing my besties proud by buying wine for the room.
It is, however, cheap, pink, sweet wine, so… not really doing ‘em proud, I guess.
We are planning to meet with some of the other finalists tonight (and I’m scrambling to figure out what restaurant to suggest since they haven’t determined that yet.) Then, I’m headed to Downtown Disney to exchange a watch The Boy bought on his birthday trip and promptly smashed the crystal. I’m hoping they’ll just exchange it, but I’m prepared to spend the cash to replace it if I must.
I also have to pick up my Disney Visa Rewards at the Guest Services there — I’ll need it when LeeCee and I sneak off to Boma on Friday.
Otherwise, I will see the conference rooms of the Swolphin and not much more. (BTW, I thought we were in the Swan, but we’re actually staying in the Dolphin — and THAT’s a looooong walk, lobby-to-lobby, dragging a big suitcase!)
Eileen
I love LSDH’s reference to Ariel in his comments. He’s so quick with his quips.
I don’t know that I’d be able to contain myself being so close and all to HS and EPCOT, where you can hop a quick boat and be FABbing all around, checking out naughty bits.
How can you NOT sneak into Epcot while you are there???
Enjoy Boma, my dear friend Amber is a chef there. I’m not sure her schedule, but if she is there she will treat you right (especially if you give her the heads up about your dietary needs and tell her you’re a buddy of her pal Beth from NJ!)
Have a great time, Eileen! Any Disney is better than no Disney at all!
So close, but yet so far…. Missing that pass I am sure.
I hope you get a chance to enjoy the pool area and bar one day. I met some nice locals there spring 2009 (seems it’s easy to just go to that pool if you live in town…no one ever throws them out). And I remember sleeping well at the Swan….hope the Dolphin beds are as comfy! Enjoy DTD and Boma!
