A bento

OMG! A bento?

Yep… a bento!

I made sticky chicken for dinner, and The Boy asked for some for lunch. Sheesh, it’s the first non-PBJ I’ve done in ages, so I *had* to capture it.

Thanks, Easter Bunny. Bok bok!

I love that old commercial. :)

But now I love the Easter Bunny for more than just the candy — now I can thank him for the great bento stuff too!

Just walk down any Tarzhay aisle this season and you can find tons of great stuff to spice up your bento box.

A quick bento

So, I’m running very late for work after a night of interrupted sleep (ever have a husband roll to your side of the bed and start snoring loudly in your ear? Lemme tell ya, it’s IMPOSSIBLE to get to sleep after that.) I ended up on the couch, catching up with Cranford on Masterpiece Theatre.

Then it was up to make GF pancakes for breakfast and I managed to pack a lightening quick bento before going back to bed for a few hours.

These days, it’s pretty much this bento or one with a PB&J sandwich on GF bread. He’s not been interested in much else. *sigh*

I can see why it won Game of the Year!

Despite all the best intentions to keep Christmas expenditures to a minimum this year, we got a little extravagant with The Boy’s main present — a PlayStation3.

But, then again, we’re a gaming family, and my OCD tendencies extend to a deep and abiding love of video games. In fact, The Boy essentially taught himself to read because he wanted to know what the characters were saying (this was back in the days before game systems had the processing power to include recorded audio with live actors. All “dialog” occured as written text on the bottom of the screen.)

So, it was really no surprise that we caved the moment it was announced that they were doing a big price drop on the system. Then the Black Friday sales were too good to pass up — giving us the top two games on our list free with the system. I woke up at the butt crack of dawn on what is usually “spend nothing day” for us and snagged one for The Boy’s surprise.

Meet Sackboy.
